Arizona State basketball to open season against Mississippi State

The Arizona State men’s basketball team announced today that it will open its season against Mississippi State in Chicago on Nov. 8 as part of the 2023 Barstool Sports Invitational.

The game will tip off at 7 p.m. MST at Wintrust Arena. Last season’s Cinderella team, Florida Atlantic is also apart of the invitational. The Owls will take on Loyola Chicago at 5 p.m. MST prior to the ASU game.

The games will be exclusively broadcasted for free on Bartsool.tv. Dave Portnoy, Dan Katz (Big Cat) and other Barstool personalities will commentate the games.

The ASU-MSU matchup will mark a face-off between two 2023 NCAA Tournament teams, as both Mississippi State and ASU fell in the first round of this year’s tournament.

Mississippi State finished 21-13 last season.

New Arizona State guard Adam Miller shared his excitement to head home to play in the Windy City in front of his friends and family. It is still unclear if Miller will be eligible or not this season because the NCAA’s two-time transfer rule after transferring from LSU.

The Sun Devils have not released their full non-conference schedule with only two months left until the season. Here’s all that has been reported (no new changes since article was written):
