Gotta win the big ones

The Diamondbacks have three series’ against WildCard contending teams. The Chicago Cubs and the San Francisco Giants. With the WildCard race being as tight as it is, the Diamondbacks have to win these series. Given the Diamondbacks can find a way to do their side work as well. The Diamondbacks play the Cubs a total of seven games, four on the road and three at home. Arizona has San Francisco two games total, twice at home.

Win the ones you’re supposed to

The Diamondbacks entire month of September isn’t complete chaos. Arizona has a three game set at home against the divisions last place Colorado Rockies. They need to sweep that one. Arizona then goes on the road for a four game set in New York where they take on a struggling Mets team, need to take at least three of four in that series. Arizona will have two of their final three series of the season on the road, and the three against the 53 win White Sox they should win.

End the season hot against Houston

The final series of the year for the Arizona Diamondbacks is one that will be played in Phoenix against the Houston Astros. If the Diamondbacks put themselves in a good spot, taking down Houston would carry massive momentum into the playoffs. Houston has been known over the past few years for constantly dominating the league, even if they were cheating.

Your stars have to shine

After back to back shaky starts, we still hold trust in Zac Gallen, but he has to get back to his dominating self. Sports is all about the runs you go on. Whether it be basketball, football or baseball you have to go on runs. September can’t be a month you don’t have one. At the plate, the Diamondbacks need Corbin Carroll to bring it. Carroll went on a big slump after the all star break, but has turned it back around over the past two weeks or so.
