With the risk of falling into their longest losing streak of the season, the Diamondbacks needed Zac Gallen to step up to help guide them back to the win column.
And that he did.
The Diamondbacks ace tossed seven innings, allowed just one run on six hits, and walked zero. This performance brought him his eighth home win of the season.
He did this while rocking a snake-skin belt, which matched perfectly with the city connect uniforms.

But it is not just the wins that Gallen has managed to pick up at Chase Field, it is the number of innings he has provided. So far this season, Gallen has gone at least six innings in eight home starts. In five of those appearances, he has gone at least seven innings.
For a team that has struggled in the bullpen department, Gallen has done everything they could ask for, and more.
With a 5-1 win over the Guardians, the Diamondbacks have brought their NL West first-place lead back to three games.Â
Game two of the series will be tomorrow at 7:10. Rookie Tommy Henry is scheduled to take the mound for Arizona with hopes of securing a series win.
