Arizona Diamondbacks Fixed a Huge Problem

Arizona Diamondbacks have put emphasis on the bullpen.

In 2022, one of the biggest issues the Diamondbacks had was with the depth of the bullpen. Arizona struggled to find quality guys who could come in and get outs. Because of that, they relied on starters to go deep into games, and often times would throw a starter out there one inning too long.

This season, Arizona has a plethora of young arms who can man the bullpen as they work their way into starting roles in the future. It is one thing to dominate minor league batters, getting major league batters out, is a whole nother story.

While the D-Backs have a long list of arms, not all of them are ready to step into a starting role just yet. So what do you do with them?

Put ’em in the Bullpen

The Arizona Diamondbacks do have 2-3 solid guys from last year with tons of experience. Guys like Joe Mantiply, Noe Ramirez, and Mark Melancon all have years of experience they can pass down.

Take these young explosive arms and teach them how to get big league outs, one inning at a time. Drey Jameson and Miguel Castro are two names in particular I am looking forward to watching progress and grow this season.

Instead of only having Mantiply and Melancon who you can consistently count on in tough situations, now you have added some valuable and talented depth in that bullpen.

The Arizona Diamondbacks will be gambling a lot on youth this season, however look what that got them last season. One of the most exciting runs in franchise history.

The Diamondbacks farm system and future is one to be excited about.
