According to Gambadaro in the article, a hire could be made as early as the end of this week, and the two names that were taken off the list since Shams Charania’s report happens to be Nick Nurse who just got hired by the 76ers and Jordi Fernandez who is an associate coach with the Sacramento Kings.

Young has been with the team since 2020 after spending time with former coach Monty Williams in Philidelphia. His head coaching experience goes back to his G-League years with the Delaware 87ers. He was mainly known for helping Giannis Antetokoumpo’s brother Thanasis in getting drafted in 2014.

Rivers recently coached with the 76ers this past year before getting fired after another playoff exit. He’s coached for four teams including a time with the Clippers where he coached current Suns point guard Chris Paul. He won an NBA title with the Boston Celtics back in 2008.

Vogel also has experience winning a title going back to the 2020 bubble run when the Los Angeles Lakers beat the Miami Heat. He has also coached the  Indiana Pacers for 7 seasons and the Orlando Magic before that. He would bring experience as well as defense to the team.
