Diamondbacks Head Down South for the Weekend

The Arizona Diamondbacks are one of three teams to have yet to lose a series this season. Starting tonight they will begin a series against the Miami Marlins. Let’s dive into the starting pitchers and preview this series.

Probable Starters for Diamondbacks/Marlins

For the series opener on Friday night, old reliable will take the bump for the D-Backs. Madison Bumgarner will face Trevor Rogers for the Miami Marlins.

Rogers has pitched 9 innings in two starts for Miami, going 0-2 with an ERA of  6.00 striking out 9 over the two starts. While Bumgarner has been dealing with some minor injuries he has still started 2 games. He is 0-1 with an ERA of 7.27 over 8.2 innings with 7 K’s.

On Saturday for game 2 of the series, Ryne Nelson, the rookie will have his 3rd start of the season for Arizona. He is sitting on a 1-0 record, and a 4.91 ERA through 11 innings with 6 K’s.

He will face off against Braxton Garrett, the young 25 year old is set to take his second start of the season. He has thrown 8 K’s in 7.2 innings on the year.
