Deandre Ayton expected to return Monday vs. Jazz

Phoenix Suns’ big man Deandre Ayton is expected to make his return to the court this Monday against the Jazz, per NBA insider Shams Charania.

Ayton has missed the past four games due to a hip injury; the Suns are 1-3 in that stretch.

This season overall, Phoenix holds a shocking 30-31 record in games where Deandre Ayton starts. Ayton is averaging a career-high 18.3 points per game this year, along with 10.1 rebounds per game.

Along with Ayton, the Suns are expected to have Kevin Durant back on the court next week. If nothing changes, Durant will make his much-anticipated return on Wednesday against the Timberwolves.

With eight games left this season, the Suns hold the fourth seed in the Western Conference. However, out of the top eight, Phoenix has the toughest remaining schedule. Games against the Timberwolves, two against the Nuggets, the Thunder, the Lakers, and a season finale against the Clippers leave the Suns with no room for error.

But first, the Suns will take on the struggling Utah Jazz, who are riding a three-game losing streak and on the brink of elimination as they hold the 12th spot in the West. This game will take place in Utah at 6:00 p.m. MST.
