Earlier today on ESPN First Take, Stephen A. Smith and Kendrick Perkins had a segment where they both picked their two most dangerous teams in the west come postseason time.

Perkins picked the Los Angeles Clippers because of their depth and head coach Ty Lue to go along with Kawhi Leonard and Paul George. However, Smith believes that with a healthy Kevin Durant, the Suns are that team in the Western Conference.

“Ima go with the Phoenix Suns bro,” Smith says to Perkins. “Ima go with the Phoenix Suns because I’m anticipating Kevin Durant returning and when he returns I’m just not concerned about him meshing in with the Phoenix Suns with Devin Booker, with Chris Paul, with Deandre Ayton.”

Smith also alluded to the reason why he picked the Suns as his most dangerous team over the Clippers. And it’s because of the two-headed duo between Durant and Booker and how it already may be arguably the best in the game after just three games.

“If you’re telling me who do you want Paul George and Kawhi Leonard or Kevin Durant and Devin Booker? I’m going to tell you I want Kevin Durant and Devin Booker and I wouldn’t be surprised at all if that’s what the Western Conference Finals came down to.”

Perkins isn’t as sold on the Suns being the most dangerous team in the Western Conference due to their lack of depth and lack of aggression from Deandre Ayton.

“Have you seen the Phoenix Suns lately?” Perkins asks Smith. “I mean I thought I was at daycare the way Monty Williams was crying at the podium the other day after Giannis got through abusing Deandre Ayton in the paint… And this is what i’ve been trying to tell you when it comes down to him being that anchor in the middle… I told you weeks ago, he’s going to be the X-Factor.
