From Young and Talented to…

From a fun, young and talented team that had dynamic players that could play defense at a high level to a flurry of jump shots and the smell of icy hot.

Yes, Bridges and Johnson were still developing their offensive game. However the future looked bright in the Valley. Now without any youth on this team and 4 first round draft picks over the next 6 years gone, it is officially win now or bust.

A few questions come to mind immediately. Who on this team can play defense at an above average cliff on the perimeter now? How can this team win with three players taking 20 jump shots a game? Is an old Durant worth the future of this franchise?

All of these questions will be answered in the remainder of this season. However, if anything the Durant’s time in Brooklyn should of showed the world at least one thing. Combining talent alone is not enough, you need to guys willing to get dirty on defense.

Suns Durant Trade: Win Now or Bust

Kevin Durant, who is under contract for the next three years, gives the Suns a window barely cracked open on a championship. With his own injury problems and age being a factor, the 34 year old has been banged up the last 4 seasons.

Add in Chris Paul, who is closer to his hall of fame speech than his prime. Deandre Ayton who is the littlest big man in the league mentally and presence wise.

If this trade did anything, it just put the world of pressure of Devin Booker. Durant has been one of the best NBA players ever over his career, he also has only won as the second option. No matter what team he has played on, Westbrook, Curry, and Irving were the alphas that put their foot on the gas.

All in all, the remainder of the year will be one thing in Phoenix, exciting.
