The newest coach on the block that Arizona will interview, is none other than Hall of Famer Sean Payton.

A name that fans have been shouting for ever since the Cardinals quickly saw their season fall off a cliff. And now, with Kingsbury officially gone, a door has opened for Arizona to make a move.

According to NFL insider Ian Rapoport, the Cardinals have been granted access to speak with Payton in the near future.

Meanwhile, in Vegas, Arizona has seen their odds to land Payton skyrocket over the past couple of weeks. As of January 11th, Vegas has the Cardinals having a 33% chance of landing the coach that just about every NFL team is dying to have.

Payton has repeatedly stated that he is looking for somewhere that has a reliable quarterback option along with a functional organization as a whole.

The former Super Bowl champion has talked quite highly about Cardinals’ QB Kyler Murray, but whether he wants to partake in the injury parade that Arizona has gone through, well that is a different story.

However, it has been reported that Payton is a fan of Murray along with the opportunity to set up his own “operation” while the Cardinals are without a general manager, according to Tom Pelissero.

Last season, Murray played in only 11 games and is now projected to miss the first couple of weeks next season after he tore his ACL and underwent surgery in early January.

Will Sean Payton be willing to take this risk on Cardinals’ franchise quarterback Kyler Murray?
