The Arizona Cardinals have five games left in the 2022-23 season. After yesterday’s heartbreak loss at the hands of the Los Angeles Chargers, is the Cardinals season over? Do they have any thing to salvage from this season? What do fans need to see to close out this season to feel good about moving into next season?
Is the Arizona Cardinals Season Over?
With only five games left, against a tough schedule on paper, the Cardinals are currently 3.5 games behind the San Francisco 49ers who hold first place by a hair.
The next five games will be a gauntlet, with no room for another loss.
- New England Patriots 12/12
- Denver Broncos 12/18
- Tampa Bay Buccaneers 12/25
- Atlanta Falcons 01/01
- San Francisco 49ers 01/08
It is safe to assume that playoffs are out of reach at this point for the Cardinals.
What Can Cardinals Salvage from this Season?
In this last stretch of games, the Cardinals need to do something to get positive energy going again in the facility. After last seasons meltdown and the Kyler Murray drama filled off-season, this team came into this season on the wrong foot.
The confidence needs to be restored, leadership and accountability need to be at the forefront these last five games.
Arizona needs to look at each other and put an end to the negative narrative surrounding this year’s team. I am not sure the answer, yet, the question will be how do we change the culture?
Less pointing fingers around the room and more “this is on me, this is on us” narratives. The talent is there on this roster, however, injuries have plagued this team all season at nearly all positions.
