Coyotes Fans Upset at Ticket Pricing

The Arizona Coyotes have a lot of excitement around them coming into this season. Between the new arena and new players, this season looks to be the one where the Coyotes take the next step forward. However Coyotes fans are upset at ticket pricing.

“Too Expensive”:

Fans were quick to complain once they realized how much it would cost to go to a ‘Yotes game this season. Tickets are 140$ and up for single tickets. Meaning the price to take a family of four to a hockey game on a Tuesday night is over 600$ after taxes and surcharges.

That is for the cheap seats, tickets go all the way up to 695$ for a single ticket. The Coyotes franchise is trying to take advantage of the hype. However I think it is backfiring.

After decades of forcing fans in Phoenix to drive almost 3 hours (round trip) to see a Coyotes game, they move closer and raise the price of tickets to rent-like prices.

Front Office:

This franchise has a long history of being desperate for money. These ticket prices fit right in line with that.

Also stories came out that the front office were making up numbers about how many season tickets were already sold, to garner more excitement. After reporting that season tickets were almost sold out, information came out that only about 50% of season tickets have been purchased.

I have been trying to get to the bottom of this piece of information all week, no true source has risen out of the ashes that I trust on the matter. For now it is just speculation, I always heard “where there is smoke, there is fire”.

Arizona Coyotes Tickets Go On Sale Today!

Coyotes Hockey:

Hopefully the team can get on the ice and skate distraction free going into the season. A lot of this chatter will go away if they are winning. Including people complaining about ticket pricing. This will be a special season in the desert, as long as the front office’s greed does not ruin it.

Maybe that is the future of sports, which is why people fear sports coming to an end. Gauging fans will eventually cost them to disappear, due to not being able to afford it. Which in return will force the sports to disappear.

The Phoenix Suns and Arizona Diamondbacks have ticket plans and pricing for every budget allowing them to truly connect with the city. I am afraid the Coyotes are doing the exact opposite. After using fan’s tax money to build a new home, fans can not afford to get in.
