Last night was highlighted by Corbin Carroll’s grand slam, the third of his career and sixth home run of the season. Geraldo Perdomo has also been on fire lately, as he hit a three-run home run yesterday.

Pitching in Wednesday’s matchup:

The D-Backs will have Brandon Pfaadt pitching today, as he makes his fourth season start. Pfaadt went six innings without a run given up against the Baltimore Orioles his last time out and only gave up four hits on the day. The previous time Pfaadt had a matchup against Miami was back in August of 2024, where he got the win, though in 5.1 innings pitched he allowed four runs.

Max Meyer will look to continue his streak of good outings in the 2025 season, as he has been reliable for the Marlins so far. In three starts, Meyer has only given up four earned runs and has struck out 19 while only walking five hitters in 18 innings pitched. His last outing was a 5-0 win in New York against the Mets, Meyer looked solid there too tossing 6.1 innings and giving up no earned runs and only two hits.

After yesterday’s rout, the Marlins had a couple of punches back, but the damage was already done. The D-Backs will look to hold off the Marlins on Wednesday afternoon as they look to win their fourth series of the 2025 season, and their second road series. The first pitch from LoanDepot Park is today, Wednesday, April 16th at 3:40 p.m. MST.
