EAST RUTHERFORD — The Arizona Cardinals are reeling from a third straight loss, with Sunday’s coming against the New York Giants as questions continue to rise about the quarterback position.
What was head coach Mike LaFleur’s answer when asked about the idea of making a change at quarterback?
“No,” LaFleur said to the media postgame.
Mike LaFleur shut down the idea of benching Jacoby Brissett and evaluated his performance against the Giants, where he threw three interceptions.
“We gotta be better.”

The answer came after quarterback Jacoby Brissett’s three-interception game, with the final one being a 98-yard pick-six by Giants cornerback Deonte Banks that ended the Cardinals’ last chance in a 36-24 loss. Arizona has now fallen to 1-3 after opening LaFleur’s tenure with a win over the Los Angeles Chargers.
The Cardinals have shown flashes offensively but have struggled with consistency, and Sunday’s collapse turned what looked like a potential comeback into another frustrating loss.

Brissett completed 21 of 35 passes for 166 yards and two touchdowns against New York. Still, the three interceptions, including the final one, proved costly. LaFleur, however, put the interceptions in context, noting that the first two were tipped before saying the team needs to “improve” in those situations.
After taking over as the Cardinals’ starting quarterback this season, Brissett has been inconsistent. He threw for 280 yards and two touchdowns without an interception in last week’s loss to San Francisco, after passing for 95 yards, one touchdown and one interception against Seattle. He also threw for 277 yards and a touchdown in Arizona’s season-opening win over the Los Angeles Chargers.

Through four games, Brissett has completed 103 of 152 passes for 818 yards, six touchdowns and four interceptions.
The Cardinals have veteran Gardner Minshew and rookie Carson Beck behind Brissett, but LaFleur has made it clear neither will take over — for now.
