DETROIT – The rough stretch keeps getting worse as the Arizona Diamondbacks were defeated by the Detroit Tigers by a score of 5-1 on Monday afternoon.

An early error at the bottom of the first saw the Tigers get on the board as Geraldo Perdomo and Lourdes Gurriel Jr. almost collided as a pop fly from Spenser Torkelson dropped in. Torkelson reached third and scored a run to give Detroit an early 1-0 lead. The catastrophic error was just a sign of how things have been going lately for this D-Backs ball club.

The Diamondbacks have looked deflated and dejected since the first of many anticipated trades occurred when Josh Naylor was sent to the Seattle Mariners. The writing is on the wall for this D-Backs ball club, and it is now affecting their play on the field.
Eduardo Rodriguez was just trying to hang on in Monday’s matchup, as he pitched 6.0 innings and allowed five earned runs on eight hits. Rodriguez was unable to get any sort of stability going and was shaken up on the day.

The Diamondbacks’ offense has become stagnant and has little to no resemblance to what this team has produced in the past. In the last four games, the D-Backs have only been able to score two runs. The, “Answerbacks”, don’t seem to have the answers, the chaos is not being embraced, and the Snakes do not look alive. Arizona will look to right the ship with a win tomorrow against the Tigers on Tuesday afternoon.
