Facing off against the Detroit Tigers for the first time in the 2025 season, the Snakes will be looking to end the month of July on a high note. Arizona has been dealing with moving pieces and trade rumors daily, and the uncertainty has been weighing on this D-Backs ball club.
Monday’s mound matchups:
Eduardo Rodriguez will be pitching for the Arizona Diamondbacks on Monday afternoon. E-Rod hasn’t had his strongest season, as his 3-6 record and 5.50 ERA shows. In his most recent outing against the Houston Astros though, he didn’t allow a run on six hits in 6.1 innings pitched.

The Detroit Tigers will be relying on newcomer Troy Melton. Melton was officially added to Detroit’s rotation on this past Saturday. and is Detroit’s number six prospect, according to MLB Pipeline. Making his MLB debut on Wednesday, July 23rd, Melton allowed six earned runs on seven hits in 5.0 innings of work.

Arizona has been reeling as of late, and the moves being made by the front office have shown that the hope for this season might be out of reach. With Josh Naylor heading to the Seattle Mariners and Randal Grichuk heading to the Kansas City Royals, it’s only a matter of time till more news comes out that other pieces of Arizona’s core gets depleted. All hands are on deck for now though, as they look to take care of the AL Central division leaders.
