GLENDALE – The Arizona Cardinals second-round pick Chase Bisontis inked his name to his rookie deal and got paid big time. In the NFL, draft picks that secure guaranteed deals are first-round picks. last year, Bengals second-round pick wide receiver Jayden Higgins became the first non first-rounder to secure a fully guaranteed deal. Even Arizona’s Will Johnson didn’t get that type of deal in 2025.

Assistant general manager Dave Sears highlighted the 21-year-old’s toughness as a big factor on why the team committed to him heavily.

Sears on why Cardinals picked Bisontis:
Bisontis stated during his introductory press conference that he is willing to get his hands dirty and be flexible for the team to play any position. He’ll need to, as the rookie played left guard for two seasons at Texas A&M, which is the same position as new signee Isaac Seumalo. Bisontis isn’t completely hopeless, playing at right guard his freshman year with the Aggies.

Arizona had one of the worst pass protection and rushing attack last year. Bottom five at each position, leading to the franchise making a big commitment to fixing the offensive line in the offseason. General manager Monti Ossenfort signed four offensive line free agent, headlined by Seumalo, and drafted Bisontis to be a Week 1 starter.
The preseason will be massive for the unit, seeing how limited the reps all of them will have together before 2026. Bisontis’ willingness to switch position makes the adjustment period much easier for the team and could see one of the biggest one season turn arounds ever for a unit.
