PHOENIX – On March 14th, the sound echoing off Downtown Phoenix won’t be a buzzer-beater or a walk-off; it’ll be horsepower as Formula 1 and Red Bull Racing are bringing the Red Bull Showrun to Jefferson Street. Directly outside the homes of the Phoenix Suns and Arizona Diamondbacks, Red Bull Racing is bringing a full-throttle demonstration, slicing through the heart of the city.

Phoenix hasn’t hosted F1 since March 10, 1991, when a temporary downtown street circuit staged a Grand Prix. Thirty-five years later, the sport returns, not with barriers and championship implications, but with symbolism. F1’s U.S. footprint has surged in recent years, with races drawing more American viewership and corporate investment. Bringing a Showrun to Phoenix signals belief in the market.

Strategically, this is how global sports expand with immersive access. Fans who may never attend a Grand Prix can stand curbside for free and feel the vibration of an F1 engine against the skyline. For Suns and D-backs supporters, seeing a Red Bull car staged outside their arenas, as it has been during recent games, creates cross-sport energy rarely experienced in one block.

Emotionally, it’s awe. Formula 1 cars “flying” down Jefferson with pro stadiums as a backdrop is the kind of image cities build branding campaigns around. One street and one global statement, and it’s arriving at 13,000 RPM.
