GLENDALE – Week 18’s 37-20 loss to the Los Angeles Rams marks the end of the worst Arizona Cardinals season in franchise history. The most losses in the organization’s 100+ year existence, while allowing the most points in a single season. No one has shouldered the blame more for the team’s failure in 2025 than head coach Jonathan Gannon.
Thank you for reading this post, don't forget to subscribe!Following Sunday’s defeat, Gannon spoke with the media and reflected on the hardships of the season and how he knows the team will grow from this 3-14 year.

Gannon reflects on third year with Cardinals:
“Not a great one, but growth will happen,” Gannon said. “My best memory [of the season] hasn’t happen. It’ll be the growth that comes from this year.
“When you have a year like this with a lot of adversity, [it’s] like getting hit on the chin and getting knocked down. You can either stay down or get up. So, we’ll get up.”

Arizona Cardinals head coach Jonathan Gannon looks onto the field during a NFL game between the Cincinnati Bengals and Arizona Cardinals, Sunday, Dec. 28, 2025, at Paycor Stadium in downtown Cincinnati.
The loss puts Gannon’s overall record at 15-36, the worst winning percentage by a Cardinals head coach to hold the mantle for longer than a season since 1954. However, those numbers don’t matter to the 42-year-old head coach, as he took the time to highlight the fight of two players: quarterback Jacoby Brissett and wide receiver Michael Wilson.
The duo have represented a team full of players that fought in Gannon’s opinion. Brissett staying in the pocket, absorbing hits and always looking down field. Wilson’s amazing second half of the season to reach 1000-yard, which Gannon thought he was incredible on Sunday and all season.
Gannon expects this team to grow, and while not discussion about his future, his statements highlight a head coach that remains determined to keep coaching in 2026.
