“The new marks – from the PHX for the X-Factor to the secondary logo that features the entire state of Arizona and the fan-inspired ‘Merc’ moniker – center the community of people whose support has helped us win three championships and carried us back to the Finals in 2025,” Phoenix President Vince Kozar writes in a press release.
Fans have already spoken out on the team’s new look.

The Mercury’s run to the WNBA Finals in 2025 is being treated as the beginning of a new era. As a newly formed team that wasn’t given much of a chance early by analysts, the season planted the seed of possibility for future championship pushes.
All eyes are on Phoenix, despite the Finals loss. Analysts now rank them highly heading into the 2026 season because of the grit they showed throughout the year. With a new look, the Mercury are expected to remain in the spotlight and, this time, they won’t be overlooked.
