The D-Backs came to play yesterday, and their superstars led the way. Corbin Carroll and Ketel Marte both hit two home runs that helped Arizona get an 8-3 victory. It is early into June, but the D-Backs could be turning the page a little bit after a tough stretch recently.

Wednesday’s mound matchups:
Today should be a strong pitching matchup as Merrill Kelly will be starting for the Arizona Diamondbacks against Atlanta Braves’ Chris Sale.

Merrill Kelly didn’t have his usual shutdown stuff as he gave up four earned runs in only five innings pitched in a loss to the Nationals. Kelly so far on the season has a 5-2 record and a 3.78 ERA. Chris Sale has a 3-3 record with a 3.06 ERA. In his last outing, Sale pitched six innings without allowing a run and only two hits against the Phillies. He has a 4-0 record against the D-Backs with a 2.57 ERA. Chris Sale very well may just have Arizona’s number.
Already starting to see this area of rain lose steam. Stronger showers will take longer to fizzle out but we still have some time. A delay wouldn’t surprise me, but I am cautiously optimistic for playing tonight.#Braves #DBacks https://t.co/bnFcb175mp pic.twitter.com/2tYtjdJ2kF

It was a rainy morning on Wednesday, but the weather appeared to be clearing up just in time at Truist Park. If Arizona can capitalize on Merrill Kelly producing and bouncing back, they will be in a good position to take the series on Wednesday.
