It was Country Night out at Chase Field, as fans had their best cowboy hats and boots on hoping for a Snakes win. Unfortunately, they were unable to get one. Tonight just wasn’t the D-Backs night as they couldn’t seem to get anything going. Atlanta showed their talent at the plate, and had the momentum on their side as they now have won their sixth matchup in the last seven games. Austin Riley and Eli White both had two hits and two RBI’s on Friday night for the Braves.

The Snakes had seven hits but only were able to get two runs across the board. Jorge Barrosa singled to center scoring Suárez in the bottom of the fourth inning to get on the board. In the bottom of the eighth inning, Gabriel Moreno doubled to right scoring Suárez for a late-game run and his second run of the game that brought it to an 8-2 score.

Pitching struggles:

Zac Gallen looked incredibly flustered on Friday night. Gallen, who had the loss on the day, pitched five innings and gave up four hits and three earned runs. His pitch count was a problem as it took Gallen 59 pitches to get through the second inning.

Juan Morillo who recently got called up by the D-Backs had another poor outing as he gave up three hits and two runs in an inning. Yilber Díaz who was recalled today as the D-Backs optioned J.P. Feyereisen to Triple-A Reno, gave up four hits and three earned runs in three innings of work.

With the starting pitching being questionable at times, the bullpen injuries, and the inconsistent hitting, it’s hard for the D-Backs to get anything going. They lose their third game in a row, with all three games being at home.

Arizona will look to come back strong against Atlanta and get back on track on Saturday night, as they will face them again tomorrow at Chase Field. First pitch is at 5:10 p.m. MST.
