The D-Backs are coming off of a series loss over a windy weekend in Chicago against the Cubs, although they left Wrigley Field with a win on Sunday by a score of 3-2. They look to build on top of that win, as Tampa Bay comes into town. The Rays currently stand as the last-place team in the AL East, with a road record of 0-3 in the 2025 season. In their last ten games, Tampa Bay has a 4-6 record and just nine wins on the season in 22 games. They only had two hits on Sunday in their last outing against the Yankees.

Taking the mound today:

Brandon Pfaadt will take the mound for the Arizona Diamondbacks, as he goes up against Zack Littell for the Tampa Bay Rays. Pfaadt, who has a 3-1 record on the season, also sports a 3.04 ERA with 18 strikeouts in 23.2 innings pitched in 2025. The D-Backs also won in Pfaadt’s last start, as he pitched 5.2 innings, only giving up one earned run on the day. Littell, as the numbers suggest, hasn’t had the best start to the season with a 0-4 record and a 5.48 ERA. Though in his last outing, he only allowed one earned run over six innings of work in Boston over the Red Sox.

Key players:

Arizona Diamondbacks’ Josh Naylor has been on a tear in his last ten games, as he went 15-for-41 with four home runs and nine RBIs. Third baseman Junior Caminero has been a name to watch for this Rays team, as he is hitting .269/.310/.500 with five homers on the season.
