PHOENIX – The Arizona Diamondbacks have been one of the best offenses to start the 2025 MLB season. The club is top five in runs scored and seventh in batting average. Despite its struggle in the bullpen, the bats have made up the difference. The biggest determining factor for Arizona’s success at the plate is shortstop Geraldo Perdomo, who has quickly become one of the most efficient batters in the MLB.

Perdomo sensational season with Diamondbacks:

Perdomo has the highest BB/K ratio in the league and has a .448 on-base percentage, leading the Diamondbacks. The All-Star infielder also leads Arizona in batting average (.333) and RBIs (13). All of those numbers would be career highs for Perdomo, who just signed a four-year $45 million extension with the franchise.

The 2025 season is only 17 games old, but the short stint that Perdomo has showcased has inspired confidence between the deadly one-two combo in the middle of the infield with him and Ketel Marte. The 25-year-old is known for his defensive prowess, but since his debut in 2021, Perdomo has become one of Arizona’s most improved hitters and, so far this season, the club’s best.
