Who will take the series over at Chase Field during Sunday’s day game? The D-Backs coming in with an 8-7 record into this matchup, look to make up some ground in what seems to be a tight NL West race. Even this early on in the season, every series matters.
The D-Backs will turn to right-hander Zac Gallen, who so far has a 1-2 record with a 5.28 ERA. Gallen in his last start went 4.2 innings pitched and gave up five earned runs on seven hits. His lone victory this season was on the road in New York against a surging Yankees team earlier this year, as Gallen went 6.2 innings pitched while only giving up three hits with 0 earned runs.

On the other hand, the Milwaukee Brewers will be turning to their ace Freddy Peralta who has a 2.00 ERA in three starts and 18 innings pitched while having 22 strikeouts on the season. Peralta’s last start was on Wednesday in Colorado where he went five innings and only gave up one earned run on three hits.

The Diamondbacks will be looking to win their second series of the 2025 MLB season today. Their starting lineup consists of Pavin Smith at first base, while Josh Naylor gets the day off defensively but will still be the designated hitter. Jose Herrera gets the start behind the plate today, as Gabriel Moreno will also have a rest day.
