Last night, Baltimore went on the attack as Ryan Mountcastle and Ryan O’Hearn did some damage early, with pitcher Zach Eflin going six innings allowing only one run.
Today the D-Backs will be looking to Merrill Kelly to slow down the Orioles bats. Kelly, has a 1-1 record with a 10.00 ERA on the season. His first start of the season against Chicago he settled in nicely, though his start in New York against the Yankees was a different story. Kelly gave up 9 runs in just 3.2 innings against the Yankees, and he will look to right the ship today if the D-Backs want a chance to stay alive in the series.

Baltimore will be having Charlie Morton take the mound today, who has a 0-2 record this season with a 9.72 ERA so far. Morton has not had a strong start to the 2025 season as he gave up 5 runs in 5 innings against Boston, and 4 runs in 3.1 innings against Toronto. He seems vulnerable, and Arizona will hopefully be able to take advantage of that and put some runs up the board today, something the Snakes had a problem with last night.
The Diamondbacks have lost three games in a row and four of their last five, and will look to stop the losing streak tonight. With Ketel Marte sidelined for the time being, the rest of the squad will have to pick up the pace at the plate.
