PHOENIX— Kevin Durant continued his scorching offensive stretch, but even his 30-point performance couldn’t keep the Phoenix Suns competitive against the red-hot Boston Celtics on Wednesday night.

The Celtics set the tone early, breaking a franchise record with 10 three-pointers in the first quarter, matching Durant’s output before the Suns could establish any rhythm. Boston’s long-range barrage paved the way for a dominant 132-102 victory, snapping Phoenix’s winning streak while extending their own to seven games.
Durant, who was named Western Conference Player of the Week last week, remained in elite form. The former MVP shot an efficient 11-of-16 from the field and 3-of-4 from beyond the arc, marking his third consecutive 30-plus-point game.

Despite Durant’s heroics, Phoenix struggled to generate consistent offense and failed to contain Boston’s perimeter attack. The Celtics’ historic first quarter left the Suns in an early hole they couldn’t climb out of, and their defensive lapses allowed Boston to dictate the pace throughout the game.
The loss leaves the Suns barely holding onto the No. 10 seed in the Western Conference, maintaining the tiebreaker advantage over the Dallas Mavericks. With a daunting schedule ahead, Phoenix faces an uphill battle to solidify a postseason spot.
The Suns will look to bounce back in their next matchup, but with Durant carrying such a heavy scoring load, they’ll need more contributions across the roster to keep their playoff hopes alive.
