PHOENIX — Phoenix Suns star Kevin Durant was officially named NBA Western Conference Player of the Week for week 22 of the 2024-25 season.

This three-game stretch culminated with a 42-point, six-rebound, eight-assist masterclass to defeat the top-seeded Cleveland Cavaliers on Friday.
This is Durant’s first Player of the Week award this season, second as a Sun and 33rd overall in his career. His 33 career Player of the Week honors tie with Los Angeles Lakers legend Kobe Bryant for the second-most all time, behind LeBron James (39). Durant was awarded alongside Chicago Bulls guard Coby White. Devin Booker was also nominated for the Western Conference award.

With 11 games remaining, the 36-year-old All-Star is seven games away from being eligible for All-NBA and regular season award honors. The Suns (34-37) are 1½ games behind the Sacramento Kings (35-35) for the ninth seed and are tied with the Dallas Mavericks (34-37) for the 10th seed and final spot in the West play-in, but own the season tiebreaker.
Phoenix is one game into a 10-game stretch against the league’s top teams, including Milwaukee and Boston twice, Oklahoma City, Golden State, Houston and Minnesota. They match up against the Bucks at home on Monday.
