PHOENIX — Phoenix Suns coach Mike Budenholzer spoke to the media following their 129-89 win over the Toronto Raptors.
Budenholzer praised his rookies, Ryan Dunn and Oso Ighodaro, for yet again making tremendous impacts to a win. Dun finished with 17 points and six rebounds. Ighodaro finished with nine points, 10 rebounds and set a franchise rookie record for single game plus-minus, he was a plus-39 in 26 minutes on the floor.
Phoenix (32-37) is now just one game behind the Dallas Mavericks for the final spot in the Western Conference play-in. Dallas is ravaged by injuries and could run in to an insane situation that might see them forfeit games towards the end of the season for not having enough available players.
The Suns have a prime chance at making the play-in, but it won’t be easy. Following a game against the Chicago Bulls on Wednesday, they have a stretch of games where they play Cleveland, Milwaukee twice, Boston, Oklahoma City, Houston and Golden State. They have the toughest remaining schedule in the NBA with 13 games left.
