PHOENIX – Phoenix Suns announced Wednesday night the team has recalled Oso Ighodaro from the team’s G-League affiliate team, the Valley Suns. The decision comes after a stellar performance against the Salt Lake City Stars, where the rookie center dropped 18 points and 18 rebounds in a win.

The Chandler native was assigned Tuesday night to join the Valley Suns for their game amidst a competitive center battle between established veterans Jusuf Nurkic and Mason Plumlee, as well as newly acquired big man Nick Richards.

The 22-year-old, in limited minutes, has shown flashes of his potential on the defensive and could be a piece of this core as the trade deadline approaches with the centers in front of him in the rotation thrown in trade rumors. Ighodaro showcased that potential last night with his output on the glass, an area that the Suns have had a real struggle with this season.

He will join the Phoenix Suns for their home game tonight against the Minnesota Timberwolves.
