After inserting Kevin Durant back into the lineup two games ago and (not surprisingly) winning both, the Phoenix Suns aim to get back on a winning track to close out the year.
In NBA.com’s latest weekly power rankings, the Suns were ranked dead in the middle of the league at 15th after week 8 following a 2-0 record against the Utah Jazz and Portland Trail Blazers, jumping up one spot from 16th the week prior.
Phoenix was “urgent” to get back to winning after a 14-game stretch filled with injuries to key players like, Durant and Bradley Beal, and two different losing streaks that gave them a 4-10 record in that span. The stretch moved them from being tied with the Oklahoma City Thunder for the No. 1 seed in the Western Conference with an 8-1 record to now being 14-11 and climbing back up the stacked west standings.
The Suns play at home against the Indiana Pacers and Detroit Pistons in week nine. As we are a week removed from the quarter mark of the season, let’s see where Phoenix ranks in various team stats around the league:
