Gomez was one of the nation’s top kickers, converting 20-25 field goals (80%) this season, being named to the All-MAC Second Team. He knocked down the longest field goal of his career with a 57-yard boot in Eastern Michigan’s 30-9 loss to Washington. He was responsible for all of the Eagles’ points against the Huskies, hitting a 50-yarder as well. He also kicked 35 touchbacks on kickoffs.
Gomez signed to Eastern Michigan in 2021 from Mexico’s Prep Tec Puebla. Over the course of his three-year college career, The Sun Devils’ newest addition was 95-100 on extra point attempts (95%) 46-58 field goals (79.3%), only having one blocked. His first career field goal ironically came in Eastern Michigan’s 2022 upset over Arizona State — the last game of Herm Edwards tenure at ASU.
