Taurasi becomes a free agent after the 2024 WNBA playoffs finish and at 42 years old, retirement is a real possibility coming sooner rather than later. The Mercury faces the Minnesota Lynx in the first round of the playoffs, with the first two of a three-game series being in Minnesota. If Phoenix wins at least one, they will force Game 3 in the Valley.
