A day after Ketel Marte and Zac Gallen exited early due to injuries, Lourdes Gurriel Jr. left Sunday’s win with hamstring tightness.

Before exiting, he was 2-for-2 at the plate and scored twice. Gurriel had a strong series, going 5-for-10 in the two and a half games he played, raising his season batting average to .269.
After Gurriel’s departure, Corbin Carroll stepped in, delivering a two-run homer in the 7th inning to extend Arizona’s lead to 12-5. It was the first time this season that Carroll hit home runs in back-to-back games.
Postgame, manager Torey Lovullo provided a positive update on Gurriel, stating that he is not expected to undergo any imaging and there are no concerns about a stint on the IL. Instead, Gurriel will be evaluated day-to-day.
The Diamondbacks already have Christian Walker and Gabriel Moreno on the IL.
