In what was his 2nd multi-home run game since joining the Diamondbacks at the trade deadline, Josh Bell stood alone in history after he hit a bomb in the Diamondbacks 5-3 win over the Guardians.

According to Sarah Langs of MLB.com, this was the fastest pitch ever hit for a home run in Statcast history, surpassing Rafael Devers’ 2017 homer off a 102.8 MPH pitch.

Josh Bell has hit nine home runs since July 22nd, four of them with the Diamondbacks. In his debut with Arizona, he launched two home runs, leading the team to a 9-8 victory over the Pirates.
Bell has recorded multi-hit games in three of his seven appearances with the D-backs, contributing to the team’s 5-2 record during this stretch. Remarkably, the Diamondbacks acquired Bell from the Marlins for virtually nothing, as he was placed on waivers by Miami just before the deadline. If Christian Walker hadn’t been placed on the IL right before the deadline, Arizona likely would not have made the move to pick up Bell.
