Sutton has appeared in 14 of Phoenix’s 15 games this season, missing Phoenix’s game in Connecticut on May 28 with a right ankle injury.

In her third season as a pro, Sutton has averaged 3.7 points per game, while dishing out 2.9 assists. The 5-foot-8 guard also averages nearly a steal per game, sitting at 0.9.

Sutton has seen a 10-minute decrease on an improved Mercury team from last year. Despite a lesser role, she’s proven to be a valued gadget option, making plays when called upon to do so.

“Being a backup point guard is not always the easiest job… Sug [Sutton] has to come in and make an impact in her 10 to 14 to 16 minutes,” said Mercury head coach Tibbetts. “Her energy, I thought she really turned up her defense in the second half, really challenged Sabrina [Ionescu]. But those [3-pointers], I pointed it out after the game to the group, what she did was huge for our win.”
