OUT – C Brittney Griner (Left Foot – Toe)
During her absence, Griner has been seen cheering on her team while wearing a boot on her injured foot every game.
Natasha Mack has filled in so far at center as Griner is out indefinitely and has no timetable for a return. So far in the first two games of the season, Mack has averaged 4.5 points, 8.5 rebounds and 3.5 assists per game.
Mack’s presence in the paint has been immense and while her scoring hasn’t necessarily been prolific, it will soon come as she becomes more acclimated to the WNBA. This year is her first back in the league since 2021 as she has played overseas for the past two seasons.
Going back to Vegas, Mack will once again have the difficult duty of facing Aces superstar A’ja Wilson. Wilson scored 30 points in Las Vegas’ 89-80 win last Tuesday.
On Saturday, the Mercury are 1-1 this season so far as they fought to the bitter end in an 88-85 victory over the Atlanta Dream. The Aces, meanwhile, remained undefeated by beating the Los Angeles Sparks 89-82.
Tip-off between Phoenix and Las Vegas gets underway Tuesday night at 7 p.m. PT inside Michelob ULTRA Arena.
