Former Phoenix Suns point guard and one of the great basketball minds ever, Chris Paul, will be putting his talents and knowledge to a new position.

Paul will be joining ESPN’s NBA Countdown team as a guest analyst for the 2024 Eastern Conference Finals.

The Eastern Conference Finals will either begin on May 19 or May 21 depending on if any one of the New York Knicks – Indiana Pacers, Boston Celtics – Cleveland Cavaliers or Minnesota Timberwolves – Denver Nuggets series go to a Game 7 (would be May 21 in this case).

The Celtics currently lead the Cavaliers 3-1 in their series, while the Knicks are on the verge of going up 3-2 over the Pacers. On the West side, the Timberwolves and Nuggets are tied at 2-2  as are the Dallas Mavericks and Oklahoma City Thunder.

The 39-year-old Paul appears to be trying out a new avenue for his next journey in life. Paul and the No. 10 Golden State Warriors were eliminated in the first round of the play-in by the Sacramento Kings.

Paul is set to earn $30.8 million on the final year of his contract next season, but no money will be guaranteed if he is waived by Golden State by June 28.
