Grichuk is presently on the 10-day injured list after missing the entirety of Spring Training due to the removal of bone spurs from his right ankle in January.

Originally signed to a one-year contract on February 17th, Grichuk’s deal amounts to $2 million.

Last season, across stints with the Angels and Rockies, the 32-year-old posted a .267 batting average and smacked 32 doubles. In the first half of the season with Colorado, he boasted a .308 batting average at the plate and launched 16 home runs.

The ten-year veteran has previously played four seasons each with the St. Louis Cardinals and the Toronto Blue Jays.

With Alek Thomas sidelined due to a hamstring injury, the D-backs will rely on Grichuk’s defensive glove to bolster their outfield depth.

Arizona’s first road trip of the year kicks off in Atlanta on Friday, with the first pitch scheduled for 4:20 PM
