Blaze Alexander was instrumental in driving the Diamondbacks’ offense to secure 11 runs in their win. Alexander, boasting a .420 batting average this spring, went 3-for-4 at the plate in the afternoon game.

After Corbin Carroll started the game with a leadoff double, Alexander quickly got the D-backs on the board with a double to drive in Carroll.

Then, in the 3rd, Blaze began the inning with his 2nd double. He was then brought in to score on a Alek Thomas bases clearing triple.

And finally, in the middle of the Diamondbacks massive six-run 5th inning, Alexander drove in two runs with two outs on a base hit into left field.

This surge provided Arizona with a 10-5 lead, a margin they maintained thanks to their bullpen’s stellar performance. Luis Frias, Kevin Ginkel, Konnor Pilkington, and Austin Pope collectively pitched five shutout innings.

On the flip side, the Diamondbacks’ offense struggled in their loss to Cleveland, managing just three hits. The Guardians established an early lead with three runs in the 1st inning off Zac Gallen.

Although Gallen managed to find some rhythm, he exited the game after the 4th inning, having allowed four runs on eight hits.

Rookie Tanner Bibee excelled on the mound for the Guardians, throwing six shutout innings and paving the way for a 5-0 Cleveland victory.

Looking ahead, Arizona is set to face the Milwaukee Brewers tomorrow at 1:10 PM.
