JP Scearce spearheaded this season’s community outreach program, Reading with Rising. The midfielder lead story time for a third-grade class at Manzanita Elementary School.

He later said on his X account, “Had so much fun doing this! Such a blessing to be a role model and a positive influence for these kids. Loved every moment.”

Other players from the Phoenix Rising FC have followed after Scearce and visited another elementary school in the Valley. Midfielders, Emil Cuello and Jose Hernandez, visited Tomahawk Elementary School to read in both English and Spanish.
The Rising are wholeheartedly committed to providing positive role models that promote bilingual literacy and cultivating a diverse reading environment.

Reading with Rising is aimed to be an inspiration for children by “fostering a love for reading, inspiring a sense of wonder, and igniting the imagination of our youngest fans.”
