Gallen openly acknowledged his bias, humorously referring to his selection as a “homer” bracket, with UNC picked to overcome Iowa St. in the Final Four before seizing the championship title.
His bracket primarily favored the top seeds, with Gallen predicting that mostly 1 and 2 seeds would make it to the Elite 8. The exceptions in his bracket were the #3 seeded Creighton and the #4 seeded Duke.
But there were some upsets predicted early on, with Gallen having #14 seed Morehead St. defeating Illinois then BYU to advance to the Sweet 16.
Other upsets include McNeese over Kansas and Texas Tech over Kentucky in the Round of 32.
What would you change about Zac Gallen’s March Madness bracket?
