The Casteel Colts’ varsity baseball team put together a convincing 15-1 home victory against the Chandler Wolves on Friday. The Colts (5-1) have picked up right where they left off during last season’s 5A Championship run.

Casteel’s lone loss came against the Basha Bears (6-3) on Thursday. This was the only game of the season where they were held to under seven runs.
The Colts are coming off an incredible season of losing just six total games and being able to secure the 5A State Championship with a title victory against Catalina Foothills.
This is the final high school baseball season for several of the team’s key players. Their top five hit leaders through six games are all seniors.
The Colts are currently ranked No. 2 in the state and No. 1 in the conference, according to MaxPreps. They next face off against the Liberty Lions (6-3) on Wednesday, March 13 @ 9 a.m. MST. This game is a part of the Boras Classic Tournament.
