In case you missed it, Kevin Durant recently gave his two cents on why he deserves to be in the NBA GOAT conversation. Durant then followed up his claim by recording back-to-back 40+ point games at 35 years old. He became the 4th oldest player to do such a thing.

However, not everyone is on board with Durant’s GOAT status, including his former teammate Draymond Green.

While Green acknowledges Durant’s status as one of the greatest shooters in history, he argues that Durant hasn’t led a team to a championship such as Stephen Curry did in 2022.

Green contends that for Durant to enter the GOAT conversation, he needs to be the primary catalyst for a championship-winning team. According to Green’s logic, this might pose a challenge with Durant currently sharing the court with teammates like Devin Booker and Bradley Beal.

Although Durant is leading the Suns in scoring this season, averaging 29.6 points per game, it would be extremely difficult to say that he is only the reason why the Suns are finding success.

Nonetheless, as Durant adds to his career achievements and climbs the all-time scoring list, there remains ample opportunity for him to make a compelling case for why he should be considered the greatest of all time.
