DeBoer Departs To Alabama

After the stunning retirement of longtime Alabama head coach Nick Saban, the team quickly had to make a decision. Washington head coach Kalen DeBoer immediately became a lead candidate to replace Saban after he led the Huskies to a Pac-12 title and a trip to the national championship game.

This opening had dozens of candidates and was highly sought after, making it understandable why DeBoer was so quick to accept the job.

DeBoer’s departure creates uncertainty in the head coach position for the Huskies. Something else to consider is that he may bring along several players and coaches from his staff in Washington to Alabama.

Carter is one of five commits from Washington’s 2024 recruiting class who have asked for a release from their contract following the announcement. Carter’s request will be granted next week.

What Is Next For Carter

Before committing to Washington, the Peoria native was weighing offers from several Division 1 programs. His offers included Arizona, Louisville, Arizona State, Texas, Oregon State, Colorado State, Nevada, Iowa State, and Washington State.

Every program at the next level should be interested in bringing the dominant two-way player in. Carter will now take time to consider which program will best fit his skillset and NIL needs.
