After an eight-game win streak ending in a loss to the St. Pius X-St. Matthias Academy Warriors, Desert Mountain got back on track during the first day of the Mesa Basketball Challenge.
The Wolves went 27-5 last season and made it to the semifinal of the open state playoffs as the No. 13 seed. Despite the incredible run to the final four, they fell just short to the eventual champions Perry Pumas.
Desert Mountain came back after being down by double digits to the Bullpups, proving how they can compete with elite teams both in and out of the state.

Day Two
Desert Mountain will face off against the 9-4 Boulder Creek Jaguars during Day Two of the tournament. The Jaguars put together a blowout victory against the Capital Christian Cougars on Day One.
Both teams have something to play for and will not go down easy, making this a must-watch on Thursday.
