Where Are Kevin Durant and Devin Booker in the Early MVP Rankings?

The NBA season is a quarter of the way done as most of the teams have played at least 20 games. Here are the early Most Valuable Player standings according to me.

MVP Rankings

1. Nikola Jokic – The Denver Nuggets are 14-9. Jokic is averaging 28.4 points, 13 rebounds, and 9.6 assists per game while shooting 53% from the floor.
2. Joel Embiid – The Philadelphia 76ers are 14-7. Embiid is averaging 33 points, 11.5 rebounds, 6.4 assists, and 1.9 blocks per game per game while shooting 51% from the floor.
3. Giannis Antetokounmpo – The Milwaukee Bucks are 15-7. Antetokounmpo is averaging 30.5 points, 10.6 rebounds, and 5 assists per game. He is shooting 61% from the floor.
4. Tyrese Haliburton – The Indiana Pacers are 12-8 after making it to the finals of the In-Season Tournament. Haliburton is the conductor of the league’s best offense. He is averaging 26.9 points,  12.1 assists, and only 2.2 turnovers per game. Haliburton is also shooting 52% from the floor and 44% from three point range.
5. Luka Doncic – The Dallas Mavericks are 13-8. Doncic is having another great season so far. He is averaging 31.9 points, 8.7 assists, and 8.4 rebounds per game while shooting 48% from the floor and 38% from three.
6. Lebron James – The Los Angeles Lakers are 14-9 after winning the In-Season Tournament. James is the oldest player in the league and still one of the best. He is averaging 25 points, 7.5 rebounds, and 6.6 assists per game while shooting 55% from the floor and 41% from behind the three point line.
7. Shai Gilgeous-Alexander – The Oklahoma City Thunder have the second best record in the western conference at 14-7. Gilgeous-Alexander is averaging 30.5 points, 6.2 assists, 5.6 rebounds, and 2.8 steals per game. SGA is shooting 54% from the floor.
8. Kevin Durant – The Phoenix Suns are 12-10 but have dealt with lots of injuries. Kevin Durant has been the main reason this stayed afloat. Durant is averaging 31 points, 6.5 rebounds, and 5.7 assists per game while shooting 52% from the floor and 50% from three.
9. Jayson Tatum – The Boston Celtics have the best record in the eastern conference. Tatum has been the most consistent player for Boston. He is averaging 27.5 points, 8.7 rebounds, and 4.2 assists while shooting 49% from the floor and 35% from three.
10. Anthony Edwards – The Minnesota Timberwolves have the best record in the western conference. Edwards is having a great year of both sides of the court. He is averaging 24.4 points, 5.6 rebounds, and 4.8 assists per game while shooting 45% from the floor and 37% from three.

Devin Booker is having an amazing season when he is on the floor. So far this year he is averaging 27.4 points, 8.1 assists, and 6.3 rebounds while shooting 47% from the floor and 42% from three point range. The problem is he has only played 13 games so far this season. If Booker stays healthy and continues to play this well, he will find himself in the top ten.
