Jusuf Nurkic’s frustration echoes Suns’ injury-stricken campaign

Tainted by injuries, the Suns 2023 season has not quite met expectations as they hold an 11-8 record through the first month or so.

The anticipated synergy of the “big three”—Kevin Durant, Devin Booker, and Bradley Beal—remains elusive, with limited court time together.

Breaking down the trio’s appearances, Beal and Durant played three games without Booker, while Booker has joined Durant in only 8 games, never alongside Beal.

The Suns boast a 6-2 record in games featuring both Durant and Booker.

In their recent loss to the Nuggets, the absence of Booker and Beal placed extra burden on Durant and Jusuf Nurkic. Despite stellar 30-point performances from both, Phoenix fell short.

Post-game, Nurkic, who notched a season-best 31 points on 22 shots, expressed frustration with the ongoing injury struggles.

Per Gerald Bourguet at PHX Sports, Nurkic exclaimed, “I just can’t wait for us to be healthy, man. Shit.”

While the loss stings, Nurkic’s standout performance provides a glimmer of hope, signaling the Suns may have secured a top-10 starting center in the league.

The prospect of a fully healthy lineup, boasting the NBA’s best big-three complemented by a robust supporting cast, offers optimism for Suns fans as they await the team’s resurgence.
