Currently, Ertz has been on injured reserve since Oct. 24 after suffering a quad strain in the Cardinals 20-10 loss the Seattle Seahawks two days prior.
Since then, Ertz has not played a second of NFL football.
Prior to being placed on the IR, Ertz had 27 catches for 187 yards and a touchdown in 7 games this season.
Furthermore, this move ends the three-year stint of Ertz being in the valley.
In 28 games as a Cardinal, the tight end caught 130 passes, recorded 1167 yards and scored 8 touchdowns.
With the emergence of TE Trey McBride, Arizona head coach Jonathan Gannon was going to have a difficult decision to make as to who would start once Ertz recovered, but now that is not an issue.
This situation should be interesting as to see who will pick Zach Ertz up off waivers while dealing with an injury.
Wherever he goes, it will not be in Arizona.
