Arizona Cardinals Offense Needs To Go Hollywood

The Arizona Cardinals have been pretty inept on the offensive end of the field for the entire season. It is a major reason whey they currently have a record of 1-7. Last week there was a glimmer of hope as the Cardinals scored 17 points in the fourth quarter against the Baltimore Ravens.

One of the victims of this bad offense has been wide receiver Marquise “Hollywood” Brown. Brown is a former thousand yard receiver. He accomplished that feat as a Baltimore Raven with Lamar Jackson as his quarterback. Now this year was much different for him as he had Joshua Dobbs at quarterback. He has ups but lots of downs stat wise this season.

The game against the San Francisco 49ers really stands out as one of those ups. Hollywood was targeted 10 times, caught seven passes for 96 yards. There were other games where he was targeted 10 or more times but the receptions weren’t nearly as much. This speaks to the inaccuracy of Joshua Dobbs at quarterback. Only 66.9% of Dobbs’ passes were on target, this is the lowest of the 31 quarterbacks who qualified for this stat.

Clayton Tune will be the starting quarterback on Sunday against the Browns. Tune is an unknown as a rookie who was drafted in the fifth round. The former University of Houston quarterback is being thrown into the deep end against one of the better defenses in the NFL. The Browns are only giving up 19.9 points per game.

A rookie quarterback making his first start going against Myles Garrett and this Browns defense is going to need an outlet. Look for Cardinals tight end Trey McBride and Brown to get lots of quick passes. Then once Murray comes back Arizona’s offense may go full Hollywood.
